Programme Objectives

The faculty of management  runs professional academic programmes. The programmes offered by the faculty are as follows:

BBA Programme

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Duration – 6 Semesters

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a three-year fulltime course which aims towards building future professionals rather than mere degree holders. It is designed to craft graduates with well-developed business insights and critical thinking and decision-making skills. The course is designed to give students the basic understanding of the management concepts and an understanding of doing business internationally.

The structure of the program is so planned that it equips the students to imbibe holistic education and requisite skills. Throughout the coursework students get an opportunity to learn the various aspects of Business and earn the basic managerial skills and communications skills.

In addition to academic learning, the course emphasizes the development of key real-world business attributes like global intelligence and personal effectiveness, giving students the confidence, knowledge and expertise required to function in a global setting.

 BBA Programme Outcomes

 Upon successful completion of the programme, the student should be able to:

  • Identify, analysis, formulate, and serve the needs of individuals and society creatively and innovatively.
  • Work effectively both on own initiatives and with others as a member of a team, group, organisation, community, and contribute to the group output in tasks growing out of the business, commerce and management fields.
  • Manage and organize his or hers activities and life responsibly and effectively, including his or hers studies within the distance context. Collect, analyse, organize and critically evaluate information, as required in the pursuit of the BBA.
  • Communicate effectively using visual, mathematical and/or language skills in the modes of oral and/or written presentation in often extensive pieces of sustained discourse.
  • Utilize science and technology effectively and critically showing responsibility towards the environment and health and well-being of others, in community, national and global contexts.
  • Anticipate and analyse trends in the business environment. Integrate theory and application from various functional areas in an interdisciplinary approach.

MBA Programme

Master of Business Administration (MBA) 

Duration: 4 Semesters

MBA Full Time is a two-year course. concentrates on imparting management fundamentals like Human Resources, Organisational Effectiveness & Change, Marketing Management, Financial Management, Quantitative Methods and Computer Applications in Management etc.

At the completion of the first two semesters of the first year and before the commencement of the third semester in the second year, the student undergoes summer training in renowned organizations of the country. A report based on the summer training is submitted within four weeks from the commencement of the third semester. In the second year, the students decide on their professional development plans by reflecting on their first year’s learning and summer internship experiences.

MBA Programme Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the programme, the student should be able to:

  • Approach organisational decisions in ethical, legal and socially responsible manner.

  • Contribute to the existing body of knowledge by applying research skills in undertaking research activities.
  • Appreciate the ethical issues associated with research and knowledge production in the discipline.
  • Challenge orthodoxies and redefine existing knowledge, while demonstrating awareness of the nature of knowledge in the field.
  • Should be able to have mastered a body of knowledge within each management and business discipline.
  • Should be able to have mastered all relevant research techniques, both general and specific in relation to a particular field of study.
  • Make an expert contribution to the conduct of business in a particular area of economic activity.
  • Organizes the MBA core courses, project work, self-awareness and growth lab, organizational skills workshop, summer internships, and other relevant inputs.
  • Organizes seminars and encourages participation in external seminars.
  • Collaborates with reputable national and international institutions and industry.
  • Encourages students to organize and participate in co-and extra-curricular activities.
