Every year in the month of Sawan, the fifth month of the Hindu calendar, Nag Panchami is celebrated. It is one of the auspicious days as on this day devotees worship Nag Devta or God of Snakes to get rid of Sarpdosh and seek blessings for the wellness of the family. Devotees observe day-long fast and offer milk to snakes or snake idol in the temple.
Nag Panchami falls in Sawan on the Shukla Paksha Panchami. This year, the auspicious day is being celebrated today, August 13, 2021. It is one of the oldest festivals celebrated across India, but with different names like Nagul Chaviti or Nag Chaturthi.
