IMPORTANT QUALITIES TO HAVE FOR AN AUDIOLOGIST
BASLP course consists of two main subjects- Audiology and Speech Language Pathology.
Audiology is the science of hearing. It deals with study of sound and balance, hearing and balance disorders and the rehabilitation of people suffering from hearing and balance disorders. Combined, the course duration is of 4 years.
Audiologists should also possess the following specific qualities:
Communication skills. Audiologists need to communicate test results, diagnoses, and
proposed treatments, so patients clearly understand the situation and options.
Compassion.
Critical-thinking skills.
Patience.
Problem-solving skills.
