It recognizes national health goals and is committed to participate in the implementation of National Health Policies and programes.It aims at identifying health needs of the people, planning and providing quality care in collaboration with other health professionals and community groups.

Multipurpose Health Worker (Female) [MPHW (F)] is one of such popular Vocational Course, which is aimed at meeting the basic health needs of the community. The pass outs of this Course have the opportunity to be employed as Multipurpose Health workers, Auxiliary Nursing Midwives (ANM) and Multipurpose Health Assistants. Presently, the issue of recognizing the MPHW (F) Course is under the consideration of the Department of Medical, Health & Family welfare and needs to be finalized.

Eligibility Criteria

For Basic B.Sc. (Nursing)

The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st Dec. of the year of admission.

The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of:

Higher Secondary school certificate Examination (12 years course)


Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), pre-degree Examination (10+2)


An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with Science ({Physics. Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (PCBE).

Candidate shall be Medically Fit.

For A.N.M.

The minimum age for admission shall be 15 years.

The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.

The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of: Secondary school certificate Examination (10 years course), 10th class or central board secondary education or a recognized equivalent public examination. Subjects of study must be equivalent to those prescribed by the CBSE for the class X with minimum 45 %.

Admission is subjected to satisfactory, medical examination report.

For G.N.M

10 +2 class passed or its equivalent.

Any group aggregate of 40% marks.

Minimum education: Minimum & Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 35 years respectively.

Duration of the course: – 3.1/2 years including six months internship.

Further 5% relaxation is permitted to SC/ST students for GNM Programme
